SFX Uniform Policy – At a Glance:


Grades TK-4


Formal Uniform

(On days of a school mass/prayer service, students are to wear formal uniform as a sign of respect for the Lord.)

Girls:

  • Plaid Jumper with white, “pointed” or “Peter Pan”, collared Blouse. White turtleneck shirts may be layered under the blouse. No alternatives!

  • Plain solid white or navy socks free of logos that completely cover the ankle. Plain white or solid navy blue tights are permissible.

  • School colored ribbons, bows, barrettes or headbands (plaid, navy blue, gold, white) allowed

  • Formal uniform V-neck or Cardigan sweaters allowed; no other sweaters may be worn in church.

Boys:


  • Navy blue Pants and White Polo with school insignia, tucked into trousers at all times. Only plain white t-shirts can be worn under the uniform shirt.

  • Baggy pants are not permissible and must be worn at waist level.

  • Plain, solid white or navy blue socks without logos that complelety cover the ankle.

  • Formal uniform V-neck or Cardigan sweaters allowed; no other sweaters may be worn in church.

  • Boys in grades 4-8 must also wear a solid navy blue or black belt with their pants at all times. Traditional-style leather belts are also acceptable. Canvas or fabric belts with a side buckle are allowed as long as the belt is no more than 4 inches longer than waist measurement.

Informal Uniform

Girls:


  • Navy blue or white Polo Shirt with school insignia, with an optional white turtleneck underneath. Shirts may not be worn rolled under at the hemline or rolled up at the sleeve.

  • Plaid Skorts may be worn, fitted at the waist and no more than 3 inches above the knee.

  • Navy blue Bermuda-length (just above the knee) Walking shorts may be worn year-round. No baggy or very tight shorts. Shorts must be worn at the waist at all times and cannot be rolled up at the hemline. Shorts may not be worn under jumpers or skirts if the bottom of the shorts is visible below the jumper/skirt’s hemline.

  • Shorts must be worn no more than 3 inches above the knee. If the shorts are worn above or below this length, and appear too tight or baggy, students will be required to wear their formal uniform until appropriate sized shorts can be purchased.

  • Jumpers may be worn with either white collared blouse or polo shirt underneath.

  • Uniform navy Pants or Sweatpants with yellow insigna may be worn on non-PE days.



Boys:


  • Navy blue or white Polo shirt with school insignia, with an optional white turtleneck underneath. Shirts may not be worn rolled under at the hemline or rolled up at the sleeve.

  • Navy blue Pants or Bermuda-length (just above the knee) Walking shorts may be worn year-round. No baggy or very tight shorts. Grades 5-8

  • Plain solid white or navy socks free of logos that completely cover the ankle. Plain white or solid navy blue tights. Stirrups, leggings, or leg warmers are not allowed. No lace trim on leg wear, no lace tights.

  • School colored ribbons, bows, barrettes or headbands (plaid, navy blue, gold, white) allowed.



  • Formal uniform V-neck or cardigan sweaters allowed; no other sweaters may be worn in church.

Physical Education Uniform (Grades 4-8)

Girls:


  • Students are required to change into their P.E. uniform shorts (navy blue with school insignia) and gray t-shirt with school insignia on scheduled P.E. class days. Extra-long, tight or baggy P.E. shorts are not permissible. P.E. shorts must be worn at the waist level.

Boys:


  • Students are required to change into their P.E. uniform shorts (navy blue with school insignia) and gray t-shirt with school insignia on scheduled P.E. class days. Extra-long, tight or baggy P.E. shorts are not permissible. P.E. shorts must be worn at the waist level.

All Grades

Jewelry/Makeup

Girls:



  • Only one set of small stud earrings may be worn. No dangling earrings or rings. Only gold/silver necklaces with cross or holy medal with chain no thicker than 3-4mm can be worn. Only school-approved bracekets with school name are allowed.

  • No makeup/foundation, false nails, or nail polish.

  • Bandanas are only allowed with teacher’s permission on special occasions.


Boys:

Shoes/Socks


  • An Oxford style shoe or laced/velcro sturdy tennis shoe is required to be word throughout the school year. Shoes must be tied appropriately. Slip-on shoes (such as loafers) are not permissible. Students also may not wear boots or platforms shoes.

  • High- or mid-top tennis shoes are not acceptable unless written permission by student’s doctor is submitted. Tennis shoes must not have extended or platform-type heels. Shoes must be mostly black, white or navy blue. Shoelaces must be black or white. Soles should be white and not-off color.

  • No wellingtons or rain boots on rainy days.

  • Plain, solid white or navy blue socks without logos that complelety cover the ankle. Stirrups, leggings, or leg warmers are not allowed. No lace trim on leg wear, no lace tights.


Jackets


  • School Navy Blue jackets with school inignia may be worn but only outdoors.

  • Sports teams or “gang-affiliated” jackets are not allowed. Students will also be banned from wearing these jackets at any school-related functions.

  • Navy blue sweatshirts with yellow school insignia may be worn, as well as principal-approved SFX-related sweatshirts (SFX CYO teams, Decathlon, Baseball Club sweatshirts).

  • Sweatshirts with the school insigna are required outerwear for all field trips during cooler months.
